CENTER TIME ACTIVITIES

1. Block Area: have different props in the block area so children can create the rainforest during playtime.

2. Science Area: have magnifying glass with different things for the children to examine: insects, feathers from birds, scales from fish, etc.

3. Library Area: different books on the rainforest as well as stories about different animals, trees, weather, etc.

4. Listening Area: Oliver the Who Loves to Sing and His Cool Jungle Band C.D. and book with head phones at listening station. Also have musical instruments available.

5. Puzzle Area: different rainforest table top puzzles as well as Giant Rainforest floor puzzle.

6. Computer Area: go to www.wildrepublic.com for some free web site child focused activities. I called and got a free disk for the computer.

7. Puppet Theatre/ Dramatic Play: use hand puppets or puppets made during art activities for children to use in the puppet theatre.
